Batting great Sachin Tendulkar has hailed Australia’s remarkable consistency after the reigning champions clinched a record-extending seventh ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title with a commanding victory over England at Lord’s.

Australia defeated hosts England by seven wickets in the final to remain unbeaten throughout the tournament and lift their 14th ICC World Cup trophy across the 50-over and T20 formats.

“Congratulations to Australia on another World Cup title! The unbeaten run really shows how well they managed different match situations and stayed consistent throughout. That kind of stability is usually what brings trophies home,” Tendulkar posted on X.

In front of a record crowd of more than 28,000 at Lord’s, Australia ended England’s perfect record in Women’s World Cups held on home soil. England had previously won all four ICC Women’s World Cups (ODI and T20) hosted in the country but once again fell short against their long-time rivals in a global final.

The victory also extended Australia’s flawless record against England in Women’s World Cup finals, with the Australians now having won all seven summit clashes between the two teams across formats.

Although England entered the final unbeaten after winning all six of their previous matches, Australia once again proved a class apart with an outstanding all-round display.

Chasing 151 for victory, Australia completed the highest successful run chase in the history of a Women’s T20 World Cup final, reaching 153/3 in just 17.1 overs.

Beth Mooney once again starred on the big stage with a composed 64 off 49 balls to anchor the chase.

The triumph also capped an impressive first major tournament under new captain Sophie Molineux, who took charge across formats earlier this year following Alyssa Healy’s tenure. After Australia’s semifinal exit at the previous ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, Molineux guided the team back to the top, leading them to another dominant ICC title and reinforcing Australia’s status as the benchmark in women’s cricket.
